资源简介:

Data and code archive for the publication entitled "Mobile consumers influence the shoreward edge of intertidal seagrass ecosystems". The data presented evaluates biotic and abiotic interactions at the shoreward edge of seagrass ecosystems in North Carolina, USA. Our results expand proposed hypotheses that suggest the environmentally stressful edge, such as the shoreward edge of seagrass, is fully influence by physical factors. Our results indicate that these edges are more complex, and both animal interactions and physical factors influence the shoreward extent of seagrass. We found that the shoreward edge is likely truncated by stingray foraging and that nutrients did not have an impact on the shoreward edge of this system but other physical factors may suggesting that both biotic and abiotic interactions are important in structering seagrass habitat edges. Data include measuremnts from fully facotorial stingray exclosure by nutrient addition field experiment that ran from May 2021 until September 2022. Data also include two seagrass transplantation experiments from 2022 and 2023 and a multi-site observational survey conducted in 2022. The data also include an ancillary seagrass edge caging experiment done in 2023. Finally, R code is provided for all analyses done for the publication. For full details on methodologies and file contents, see the publication (DOI: TBD) and the attached "README" file.
