资源简介:
During research into the behaviour, attitudes and opinions of truck drivers conducted by the Traffic Accident Research Unit, data were also collected from drivers of other vehicles, including motor cyclists, for the purpose of comparison to see if and how truck drivers differed from the general driver population. Respondents were asked their opinions concerning the major causes of both car and truck accidents, the use of seatbelts, licence points for truck drivers, time limits for truck drivers, speed restrictions for trucks, lane widths and toll charges. Other questions included ways in which road safety could be improved, their likes and dislikes about driving and their ratings of different categories of drivers such as motor cyclists, ordinary car drivers and truck drivers. Details of the nature and distance of the current trip, driving experience, accident record and annual mileage, type of vehicle and vehicle assessment were also collected. Information on the respondent's use of alcohol and cigarettes and any experience of hallucinations while driving was also obtained. Background variables included age, marital status, gross income and education.
