资源简介:

Huntington’s disease (HD) is an inherited neurodegenerative disease. Severely reduced motivation, referred to as “apathy”, is a prevalent symptom in HD, with no effective treatments currently available. It presents challenges for people early in their disease course who are otherwise physically and cognitively able to participate in most home, work, and social activities. This thesis demonstrated the safety and acceptability of transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) (a type of mild, non-invasive brain stimulation) for people with HD, and generated preliminary evidence of tACS as a means of targeting the underlying brain changes associated with apathy in HD.
