A price survey conducted at supermarkets in Kyoto revealed that the average price of 1 kg of cherries in July 2024 was 3,681 yen. This is 438 yen lower than the national average of 4,119 yen. During the period from January 2015 to July 2024 (the past 20 months), the highest price for cherries at supermarkets within Kyoto was recorded in June 2021 at 4,166 yen, while the lowest price was in July 2017 at 2,276 yen. The price difference between the peak and lowest price periods for cherries in the Kyoto area, respectively in June 2021 and July 2017, is 438 yen.
