WGS of two clinical strains (Mtb-HT1 and Mtb-LT1) from Brazil.

In a study in Brazil of household contacts (HHC) of infectious TB cases, we found heterogeneity of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) transmission within households not readily explained by host or environmental factors. Households (HH) were categorized into High (HT) and Low transmission (LT) groups based on the proportion of HHC with a positive tuberculin skin test. Mtb strains from index cases of the HT and LT households were designated Mtb-HT and Mtb-LT, respectively. In this study, we performed WGS of Mtb-HT1 and Mtb-LT1 strains.
