A study of fungal communities associated with diverse Fraxinus species (F. angustifolia, F. excelsior, F. mandshurica, F. latifolia, F. lanuginosa, F. ornus, F. pennsylvanica and Fraxinus chinensis subsp. rhynchophylla) and genotypes of F. excelsior. These species show contrasting resistance to ash dieback disease. Terminal twigs of such species and genotypes of F. excelsior were collected from spring and autumn in 2015. The twig fungal communities were examined using the primer set BITS/B58S3 targeting ITS1 region (Bokulich and Mills, 2013).
