We request 2 days on EMU to study and contrast the diffusion rates of sodium ions in two doped prototypic layered sodium-ion battery cathode materials labelled P2Sr and P2CaSr using muon spin relaxation spectroscopy ( +SR). This proposal is part of a fundamental, combined experimental and computational approach where muon spectroscopy (previous experiment RB 2310684), high resolution X-ray powder diffraction, in-situ neutron diffraction (RB 2510728) and electrochemical measurements are being implemented to understand the beneficial effect of doping alkali metals in the sodium metal layer. This proposal will continue our research into determining the activation energy and diffusion coefficients for sodium diffusion in layered transition metal oxides (NTMO).
