Drosophila experimental evolution on a high-sugar diet

This project subjected 8 wild-caught Drosophila melanogaster populations to either control (C1-C4) or high-sugar (S1-S4) diets. This was done with the goal of enriching the genomes of selected populations for loci that contribute to increased lifespan on the high-sugar diet. Sequencing was thus carried out to identify SNPs that significantly changed in allele frequency from the starter population to 10 generations after selection.
