The unc-73(e936) allele in C. elegans creates an uncoordinated phenotype through mutation of the first G nucleotide of an intron. We have done a forward genetic screen for suppression of this uncoordination that occurs by altering cryptic splicing. In this dataset are whole genome sequencing of 6 ENU-mutagenized extragenic suppressor strains (without outcrossing) that show phenotypic suppression of e936 at the level of splicing along with the starting unc--73(e936) strain. Hawaiian strain outcross mapping combined with this whole genome sequencing allowed us to identify putative suppressor alleles, that were confirmed by creating the alleles from scratch using CRISPR.
