Loans to households as a share of disposable income in the EU 2020, by country

Among this selected group of 25 European Union countries, Denmark had the highest volume of loans to households relative to its gross disposable income in 2020. This type of loan represented over 210 percent of the Danish gross disposable income. On the other side of the spectrum, loans to households in Latvia and Romania represented less than 25 percent of their respective disposable incomes. The volume of household loans as a GDP share in EU countries followed a similar distribution.
