This study employs previously isolated indigenous bacterial communities to treat biogas slurry containing EDTA-chelated Cu(II) and Zn(II). We investigated the growth status of indigenous bacteria and analyzed the efficiency of copper and zinc removal, along with their distribution in bacterial components using ICP-MS. We explored the removal forms of copper and zinc using XPS and XRD, and identify the functional groups aiding in the removal of these metals through spectral analysis like UV-Vis, 3D-EEM and FTIR. Changes in the bacterial community structure and the composition of functional genes at varying heavy metal concentrations were revealed via metagenomic sequencing.
