A Hierarchically Classified Dataset on Events Held at Public Museums Affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Turkey (2018-2026) This dataset was created by systematically compiling 2,327 public museum event announcements published on the official website of the General Directorate of Cultural Assets and Museums (GDCAM), affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, between 2018 and July 2, 2026. The original announcements were published in unstructured free-text format, with no categories, classifications, or standardized data fields. This dataset transforms them into a structured, multi-table relational model. Each event is coded using a four-level classification hierarchy - MainType (9 categories), SubType (78 categories), DetailType (144 categories) - and a multi-tagged thematic structure (29 themes, 5,600 total theme assignments, averaging 2.41 themes per event). This is a living dataset: new event announcements are added at regular intervals, and the dataset is periodically re-published as a new version. Please check this record for the most recent version.
