资源简介:
Fill from a hearth at Site 45FR5318 was examined for pollen and macrofloral remains.
This site is a small prehistoric site with five hearth features and four concentrations of fire-cracked
rock located along Cottonwood Creek in the Wind River Basin of central Wyoming.
The presence of oxidized cobbles found on the surface of the hearths along with the absence of
lithic debris at this site suggests that it might have been a plant processing site. Pollen and
macrofloral samples were collected from Feature 2, a relatively large hearth with a visible ash
and charcoal stain. Pollen and macrofloral analyses are used to provide information concerning
plant resources available to and processed by the prehistoric occupants of site 42FR5318.
