Surface and ground temperature are obtained from a thermometric station located in Cerro Caliente (CECA), at Deception Island. This station consists of 4 sensors deployed at different depths: 0 cm, -10 cm, -30cm, -40cm. These data have been recorded continuously since 2011. The data are collected annually, during the austral summer. The data provided are raw, not processed.
GEO2OCEAN project is responsible for the recording and maintenance of geodetic, geothermal, and oceanographic time series at Deception and Livingston Islands. The geodetic time series began in 1991, the geothermal time series in 2011, and the oceanographic time series in 2012. This activity is led by Dr. Manuel Berrocoso Domínguez of the University of Cadiz (Spain).
