These data sets are for the study “The Development and Validation of the Nonclinging to Ego Scale: A Comparison of Applied Buddhist-Based Models” that was submitted for publication at the Journal of Personality and Individual Differences. The present study aimed to develop a scale to measure nonclinging to ego. • In study 1, we used exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis explored and validated the factors of nonclinging to ego construct (Data and syntax files begin with “study 1”). • In study 2, we tested the validity of the two alternative models we developed as the alternative models for noncling to ego construct (Data and syntax files begin with “study 2”). • In study 3, we validated the Nonclinging to ego scale, using concurrent validity, with three scales, namely, Psychological Well-being Scale (PWS), Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI), Nonattachment Scale (NAS) (Data and syntax files begin with “study 3”) • In study 4, we performed the test–retest validity and known group validity for Nonclinging to ego scale (Data and syntax files begin with “study 4”)
