Research Data of the Article "Perceptions of Grassroots Library Users Regarding the Scientific and Technical Information Service Ecosystem in Public Libraries: An Exploratory Factor Analysis in Vietnam"

This dataset contains the processed statistical outputs of the research article "Perceptions of Grassroots Library Users Regarding the Scientific and Technical Information Service Ecosystem in Public Libraries: An Exploratory Factor Analysis in Vietnam" (Journal of Librarianship and Information Science). The study surveyed 837 users of scientific and technical information services at public libraries in ten provinces and municipalities of Vietnam, using a 43-item instrument covering ten theoretical constructs. The document includes: the study design and analysis specification; the construct definitions and the wording of all 43 items; the demographic profile of respondents; item-level descriptive statistics and reliability; the KMO measure and Bartlett's test; the exploratory factor analysis (Principal Axis Factoring, Promax rotation), with total variance explained, initial eigenvalues, parallel analysis, retention criteria, the two-factor alternative solution, the pattern matrix, the structure matrix, communalities and factor correlations; the split-sample cross-validation; the confirmatory factor analysis comparing one-factor, correlated three-factor and bifactor models, with general-factor indices; the block-wise exploratory factor analysis; and the discriminant validity of the ten-construct model (inter-construct correlations and HTMT). Individual-level survey responses are not included. Respondents were assured anonymity, and all content is aggregated across respondents.
