Supporting code and datasets for Masteller et al., "Modeling memory in gravel-bed rivers: A flow history-dependent relation for evolving thresholds of motion" (in review at Earth Surface Dynamics). This repository contains three .csv files and three .zip files, which represent the input data, model output data, model performance statistics, and code used to produce results described in Masteller et al. (in review). This repository code was written to complete analysis outlined in Masteller et al. (in review). It has been modified from its original form to improve readibility and ease of implementation for general users. You may need to modify the code for your specific applications. You are responsible for inspecting the code and making adjustments as necessary. The assets included in this repository are defined as follows: taustarcData.csv - time series of critical Shields stress at the start of transport events, modified from Rickenmann et al., (2020) dataset taustarSeries.csv - time series of Shields stress for 23 years of the Elrlenbach streamflow record, modified from Rickenmann et al., (2020) dataset modelMAE.csv - study years, parameter values, and associated model MAE for all model run completed as part of this study best_fit_models.zip - .mat files of model output for all best-fit models included in this study tauC_StateFxn_SingleRun.zip - Matlab code and sample Erlenbach input data to run a single iteration of the state function model with specified parameter values Instructions for model implementation are included as comments in the code tauC_StateFxn_ParamLoop.zip - Matlab code and sample Erlenbach input data to run a multiple iteration of the state function model with a specified range of model parameter values Instructions for model implementation are included as comments in the code References: Rickenmann, D., Antoniazza, G., Nicollier, T., Wyss, C., Boss, S., Fritschi, B., Steeb, N., and Badoux, A.: Sediment transport observations in Swiss mountain streams, http://dx.doi.org/10.16904/envidat.459, 2020.
