Coptotermes formosanus Shiraki is one of the most destructive wood-feeding termites. High CO2 concentration is a major feature of its nests. To investigate the effects of elevated CO2 concentrations on the gene expression of C. formosanus, worker termites were treated with 0.038, 0.38, 3.8 and 38% CO2 in air, and then examined their gene expression profiles through Illumina sequencing.
