External Support to Non-State Armed Groups 1980-2017: A New Dataset

This dataset is created on the basis of the particular conflicts listed in the Non-State Actor Dataset (Version 3.4) produced by Gleditsch, Cunningham, and Salehyan (2013), and has been updated through 2017. This dataset includes all cases of Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs) that have received ‘explicit’ external support covering the time period 1980 through 2017. This dataset contains detailed information on different types of support to rebel groups, targeted states, and state sponsor(s).
