European biotic seed dispersal network

Qualitative incidence matrix noting pairwise interactions between native European plant species with biotic seed dispersal syndromes (endozoochorous, epizoochorous, myrmecochorous, vertebrate hoarding) and their known seed dispersers (birds, arthropods, mammals, reptiles, molluscs, fish, and annelids). The matrix contains 5090 interactions between 594 plant species (rows) and 398 disperser species (columns), and was compiled by extracting published interactions from 1843 references in 27 European languages. Taxonomy has been harmonized according to the World Checklist of Vascular Plants, the Birds of the World database, and the Global Biodiversity Information Facility backbone taxonomy (respectively for plants, bird, and other animal species).
