EFFECTIVENESS OF 3D PRINTING TECHNOLOGIES IN PROSTHODONTICS: DIGITAL PROTOCOLS, CLINICAL ADVANTAGES, AND FUTURE DEVELOPMENT DIRECTIONS

In recent years, the rapid development of digital dentistry has significantly improved treatment and prosthetic rehabilitation procedures in prosthodontics. Integrated with Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems, 3D printing technologies enable the fabrication of individualized prosthetic restorations with high precision, reduced production time, and consistent quality. These technologies are widely applied in the production of temporary and definitive prostheses, implant-supported restorations, diagnostic models, occlusal splints, and surgical guides. This article analyzes the effectiveness of 3D printing technologies in prosthodontics, their clinical advantages, the materials employed, and contemporary manufacturing techniques. Based on a review of scientific literature, conventional prosthetic fabrication methods are comparatively evaluated against digital manufacturing technologies. The analysis indicates that 3D printing significantly reduces production time, enhances patient-specific customization, and facilitates the development of more efficient and patient-friendly treatment protocols.
