Counts and lengths of fish larvae, Georges Bank region, Bongo tow samples, Jan-June 1995-1999, US GLOBEC.

Bongo plankton tow samples from thirty cruises to the Gulf of Maine
and Georges Bank region were screened for fish larvae abundance. Fish
larvae were identified by species and measured for lengths. Sampling
was conducted over a fixed sampling grid, on a monthly basis
(January-June) for years 1995-1999.

The 0.61-meter bongo was towed obliquely with a 45 degree wire angle
at each station. Net mesh was 0.335 mm. Tows were made to within five
meters of the bottom or to a maximum depth of 200 meters.

Note: The list of taxonomic names reported in the keywords section
reflects only those species that are of commerical interest. The
complete list of organisms identified is too time-consuming to compile
and report here in total. The user is urged to use the edit/find
command to determine if a taxa of interest is present in the data that
does not appear in the keyword list.
