Portuguese Parliament (Assembleia da República) Roll-call Votes Dataset - 1980-2024

The Portuguese Parliament (Assembleia da República) roll-call votes dataset (1980–2024) includes all legislative proposals submitted from the II Legislature (1980–1983) to the XV Legislature (2022–2024). Beginning with the VIII Legislature (1999–2002), each proposal is also classified into one of 21 major policy categories following the Comparative Agendas Project (CAP) framework. The dataset’s metadata includes the date of submission, type of bill, authors and their party affiliations, the committee to which the bill was referred, as well as the title and content of the proposal (available since 1999). It also records how parties and individual MPs voted, among other information. A detailed description of the data is provided in the accompanying report.
