Weaned pigs were treated with a commercial blend of phytobiotics that was provided through their drinking water. The effect of the treatment on the gut microbiome of the treated animals was evaluated using fecal samples as a proxy. Pigs were supplemented with phytobiotics for 10 days starting one day after weaning. Fecal bacterial composition was determined at day 1 (pre-treatment) , and at days 4, 10 and 21, using the V1-V3 region of the 16S rRNA as a phylogenetic marker.
