To identify the molecular mechanism determining the lineage commitment of bone-marrow progenitors, we compared basal gene expression profiles of progenitors committed to adipogenic or osteogenic lineages. We characterize several differentially expressed metabolic and signalling pathways. Overall design: Two clonal cell lines were cultured in triplicates under standard culture conditions. Pooled samples were prepared for microarray analysis.
