Raw Data_The Relationship Between Upward Appearance Comparison and Appearance Self-Esteem in University Students

This dataset, "Raw Data_The Relationship Between Upward Appearance Comparison and Appearance Self-Esteem in University Students," was collected via the Wenjuanxing platform (https://www.Sojump.com/) from multiple universities between October and November 2025. Using a random sampling method, 818 valid responses were obtained to examine the relationships among upward appearance comparison, appearance-based jealousy, self-compassion, and appearance self-esteem. The dataset includes demographic variables and key psychological constructs, with appearance-based jealousy analyzed as a mediator and self-compassion as a moderator. The data provide empirical insights into the mechanisms influencing university students' appearance self-esteem, offering valuable references for educational research and related intervention practices.
