Scopus dataset on "Academic slop" literature

This dataset contains the bibliographic records used in the study "Academic slop": Definition and bibliometric exploration of its relationship to AI tools. The dataset was exported from Scopus on 20 May 2026 using the search query "AI slop" applied to titles, abstracts, and keywords. The search was limited to English-language documents and no publication year restrictions were applied. The dataset includes bibliographic metadata of the retrieved records and was used to explore the emergence of the concept of "AI slop" in scholarly communication and its relationship to discussions of generative artificial intelligence, research integrity, hallucinated references, and academic publishing.
