This study has provided a substantial observation of biogeochemical processes in a lab setting. Using geophysical sensors and amplicon sequencing vertical profiling successfully performed with alignment of biomat positions with possible microbial hotspots or niches. Findings from this research has confirmed the hypothesis that the levels of pre-treatment of wastewater influent into soil matrix and to a lesser extent soil texture results in significantly different patterns of bacterial community assemblages.
