Surveillance of mosquito pathogens in Manitoba, Canada

Global warming has expanded the range distributions of both mosquito vectors and the pathogens they transmit. However, there is little active surveillance for many pathogens, including the California serogroup viruses. In 2020 and 2021, we sampled mosquito populations across southern Manitoba and carried out RNA sequencing to identify the pathogens that they harbor.
