Whole genome sequences of Leptospira interrogans

Leptospirosis is a re-emerging zoonotic disease. This article reports the complete genome sequences of 12 novel strains of Genus Leptospira interrogans from different geographical regions from Sri Lanka. This includes dry zones (FMAS_AP1, FMAS-AP5, FMAS_AP6,FMAS_AP7,FMAS_PN2 and FMAS_PN3) and wet zones(FMAS_AW2,FMAS_AW3,FMAS_RT2,FMAS_PD1,FMAS_KG1 and FMAS_KG2) . This also included gene bank files and fasta files of rfb locus of 25 isolates from Sri Lanka.• Comparative genomic analysis can be performed by researchers focusing on specific genes (virulence modifying genes) to identify evolutionary and disparate alterations based on the host and geographic location.
These databases will also be a source for creating reliable Leptospirosis diagnostic tests.
• These data sets could facilitate the design and execution of a leptospirosis control program by facilitating the formulation of knowledgeable policies.
