Provided is a Zea mays receptor-like kinase gene ZmRLK7 and the use of same in regulating the height， biomass and yield of plants. Up-regulating the expression quantity of the gene will make plants become short and small and reduce the biomass and yield thereof; and down-regulating the expression quantity of the gene will make plants become big and increase the biomass and yield thereof. By means of the gene， a high-yield maize can be cultivated， and gene resources are provided to increase the yield of cereal crops.
