Purpose:To perform a field training with plants to collect data based on species based on traits, transects, and quadrats. As well as, to compare and contrast the percentage coverage of plants and grasslands in each quadrat.<br>hypothesis:All vegetation within each quadrat has greater total percentage coverage in grassland area compare to grass has smaller total percentage coverageBecause as more plants grew in a specific area then more plants will be seen and less grass will grow in the ground. As each quadrat was randomly placed by the group members, therefore various different amount of plants and grass coverage was observed and obtained the data on the notebook while performing the lab.Prediction:1- If more percentage of plants and woodlots cover rises, therefore, it will slow down the population percentage of total grass cover 2- IF the richness of total number of plants and woodlots cover rises, therefore, it will slow down the population of the total grass cover 3- To differentiate different sample of plant populations and communities with quadrats, transects, and trait sampling method.Method:- Worked in groups and collected 4 data sets.- Collected two data sets in a woodlots and two in grassland.- Counted total number of species that was seen in a each quadrats (total 13 quadrats), counted the number of species, total cover of all vegetation within plots and total cover of grasses.- Counted the number of plants that was within the quadrats.-Used the transect within the grassland to collect this data sets and recorded the distance on the transect you found it- Used transect measuring tape and record the distance from one Adult tree to the next adult tree and measured the diameter of the each tree in the woodlot.- Used transect measuring tapes and recorded the dbh of 10 trees of the same species..estimated extent of canopy coverage and recorded the distance to the nearest sapling of same species <br>Study site: York University grasslands and woodlots on the north side of the keele campus data was collected in between 2:30 to 5:30pm. the landscape contained alot of insects<br>
