Glacier mass balance data of Urumqi No.1 Glacier and Dongkemadi Glacier

The observation of the glacier mass balance started from the tongue of Glacier No. 1 from bottom to top. The west branch was arranged with A-J cross-sections, about 3850m-4150m a.s.l. And the east branch was equipped with A-K cross-sections, about 3800m-4150m a.s.l. The stakes were arranged equidistant in each section, usually 3. Observations in glacier accumulation area were conducted by digging snow pits. The Small Dongkemadi Glacier was equipped with 11 rows of stakes containing a total number of 35, which ranged from 5470 m a.s.l to 5715 m a.s.l.
