Effect of magnetite supplementation on anaerobic sludge granulation and DIET stimulation treating dairy wastewater

This study investigated the effects of adding submicron magnetite particles on the granulation process and methanogenic performance in UASB reactors started up with flocculent sludge. Emphasis was placed on the differences in sludge characteristics, methanogenic performance, and microbial community structure between the reactors with and without magnetite addition compared under increasing organic loading conditions.
