Acculturation of Immigrants: A Psychosocial Study Among Young Immigrants in Norway

The project was a survey among 581 young immigrants. The purpose was to explore their living conditions in Norway. Questions where asked in relation to family, school-life, harassment, after school activities and attitudes towards alcohol and tobacco. The empirical basis for this study is based on a nationwide questionnaire survey among young third-country migrants aged 10 to 18 living in Norway. Third-country countries are defined as all developing countries in Africa, Asia, South and Central America and Turkey. A stay of at least one year in Norway and registration in the Norwegian compulsory school system are the minimum requirements for participation in studies.
