Soil samples were collected from four soil layers (geocaulosphere soil (GS), rhizosphere soil (RS), root-zone soil (ZS) and furrow soil (FS)) around different common scab severity potato plants. The 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing was performed to detect the bacterial communities of all four soil layers. Shotgun metagenomic sequencing was performed to further detect the microbial community composition and function of GS samples.
