Transcriptomic analysis to identify mechanisms of thalidomide action in pediatric IBD patients. Homo sapiens

Blood samples from pediatric patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) refractory to standard therapies and treated with thalidomide were collected and used for the study of transcriptome by next generation sequencing. Gene expression profiles were compared between treated and untreated control samples in order to investigate the mechanisms of action of thalidomide through the identification of genetic markers of response.
