The study is aimed at characterization of the meiofauna along a transect perpendicular to the Israeli coast of the Mediterranean, between depths of 54-1400 m. Meiofauna was sampled and sorted from the sediment and a 325-445 bp fragment of region V4 of the 18S gene was HTSed and used to characterize the meiofaunal species composition using metabarcoding.
