Crossfostering Effects on Microbiota in NOX2-Deficient Mice

This investigation explores the impact of crossfostering on microbiota composition in p47phox-/- and gp91phox-/- mice. By cross-fostering p47phox-/- pups to gp91phox-/- dams and vice versa, we aimed to assess the contribution of prenatal and postnatal microbial cues to the development of microbiota in these knockout mice models. The study involved four groups (p47-/-, gp91-/-, crossfostered, and those kept with their own dam). Fecal samples were collected at 6 weeks of age, providing insights into the dynamics of microbiota alterations during critical developmental stages with no additional interventions.
