As part of the Break the Cycle component of DDRP, PSI works with injecting drug users to reduce their involvement in the initiation of young people to injecting drug use and to prevent their own overdose and overdose death and that of their peers. This program funds the Break the Cycle intervention in Khujand, Tajikistan; Osh, Kyrgyzstan; and Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Another USAID-funded project implemented by PSI in Central Asia is Project EBB Tide. EBB Tide supports the Break the Cycle intervention in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The current study serves as the baseline to measure the impact of these activities at the Tashkent and Bishkek sites.
