This BioProject contains 16S rRNA gene V3-V4 amplicon sequencing data generated from fecal samples of mice in a high-fat diet (HFD)-induced obesity model supplemented with food-grade probiotic strains. Mice were assigned to a control group, an HFD group, and HFD groups receiving Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Bifidobacterium longum, or a combination of the three strains (n = 4 mice per group). Fecal samples were collected at the end of a 14-week intervention period for microbiota profiling using 16S V3-V4 amplicon sequencing on an Illumina NovaSeq platform. The dataset supports analyses of diet- and probiotic-associated shifts in gut microbial community structure in this mouse model.
