The metabolic mechanism of algae has been attracting attention as a biological system of energy supply and carbon sequestration, which can be applied to realize a low-carbon society. Euglena is one of the well-known protists for studying biological systems of energy supply and carbon sequestration, because of its unique life style that can switch between heterotrophic (animal-like) and autotrophic (algae-like). To figure out the entire picture of the metabolic pathways of the organism, we conducted a series of RNA sequencing for a species of euglena, Euglena gracilis. For this purpose, we created 6 sequence libraries each of which is corresponding to the unique combination of environmental stresses and culturing time. Prefixes for each sequence run are as follows; E-0h-1, E-0h-2, E-0h-3, E-0h-4 : Control, E-N2-4h-1, E-N2-4h-2, E-N2-4h-3, E-N2-4h-4: Stirring Culture for 4 hours under N2 aeration, E-N2-24h-1, E-N2-24h-2, E-N2-24h-3: Stirring Culture for 24 hours under N2 aeration, E-O2-4h-1, E-O2-4h-2, E-O2-4h-3: Stirring Culture for 4 hours under O2 aeration, E-O2-24h-1, E-O2-24h-2, E-O2-24h-3: Stirring Culture for 24 hours under N2 aeration, E-S-4h-1, E-S-4h-2, E-S-4h-3, E-S-4h-4: Resting Culture for 4 hours under O2 aeration, and E-S-24h-1, E-S-24h-2, E-S-24h-3: Resting Culture for 24 hours under N2 aeration.
