Arctic residence time dataset (monthly; 1940-01 to 2013-12; supplement to Plach et al., 2025, GRL)

The Arctic residence time (uninterrupted time air spends > 70°N) as discussed in Plach et al. (2025). It was derived using the Lagrangian Reanalysis (LARA) data (Bakels et al., 2025). LARA was created by running the Lagrangian particle dispersion model FLEXPART (v11; Bakels et al., 2024) in its domain-filling mode, employing the latest Eulerian reanalysis of ECMWF (European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts), ERA5, at 0.5 degree horizontal and 1-hourly temporal resolution, as a meteorological input.
