DNA methylation modification can regulate gene expression without changing the genome sequence, which helps organisms adapt to new environments quickly. Non-model mammals have been relatively poorly studied for this purpose. However, very few related studies have been reported in non-model mammals. We comparatively analysed genome-level methylation differences between wildness training and captive giant panda to find whether the methylation modification plays a role in the adaptive response of wildness training panda.
