Injuries often require invasive surgeries and long-term antibiotic treatments, leading to extended recovery periods. This thesis introduces an innovative nanocomposite hydrogel designed for injury management by combining biopolymers with natural nanomaterials – specifically, bacterial cellulose, gelatin, and halloysite nanotubes. This novel nanocomposite offers a less invasive approach for treating deep wounds via injection. It solidifies at body temperature, providing structural support, gradually releases antibiotics to fight infections, and aids in controlling bleeding for faster recovery. This research addresses the necessity for improved, less invasive treatments, marking a significant advancement in injury management by providing a single solution with multiple advantageous properties.
