The goal of the intervention study including 540 infants was to investigate the effects of a synbiotic intervention formula (IF) containing probiotic Limosilactobacillus fermentum CECT5716 (L. fermentum CECT5716) and prebiotic galactooligosaccharides (GOS) on the fecal microbiota. Microbiota profiles depended on age, with major differences in diversity and composition at the three time points studied: 4, 12, and 24 months.
