The article analyzes the physiological and adaptive mechanisms of the cardiac cycle in elite athletes under conditions of chronic physical overexertion. It examines myocardial metabolism disorders, energy deficiency, and hypoxia resulting from intensive training and short recovery periods. Furthermore, the efficacy of metabolic and cardioprotective agents (L-carnitine, coenzyme Q10, phosphocreatine) that support myocardial function and comply with the requirements of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is evaluated.
