The dataset was collected in grassland near York University using sweep net and transect. Each sweep in transect was measured by 20 metre measuring tape, and using the sweep net, from 0 to 20 metres performing a big-eight sweeping motion. various insects were caught randomly within the sweeping time of 60 seconds for each transect, and recorded total number, type and number of different insect species caught in the net.
