Areal Statistics of Urban Tree Canopy for the Miami-Dade Urban Area 2020

The zip file contains an ESRI file geodatabase with five polygon feature classes which subdivide the urban development area of Miami-Dade County into different areal units, which are: parcels, block groups, census places, municipalities, and commission districts. Each feature class contains four tree canopy related fields which describe following statistics for polygons areas: 1) percentage of existing urban tree canopy 2) percentage of possible urban tree canopy on pervious surfaces (grass, bare ground) 3) percentage of possible urban tree canopy on impervious surfaces (e.g., paved parking lots, but not buildings, streets, or railroads) 4) percentage of area unsuitable for tree canopy (building, streets and railroads, water, wetland, cropland). These percentages were derived from a 2020 land cover map for the urban development area of Miami-Dade County available athttps://doi.org/10.34703/gzx1-9v95/HK3EJK . The zip file contains also an ArcGIS Pro 2.8.3 project file (.aprx) which renders these five feature classes as layers with appropriate map symbology.
