Harp Piedmont - Bathing in Piedmont - bulletin (15 May-30 September)

The dataset concerns the bathing bulletin that Arpa Piemonte issues weekly in the period from May to September.In particular, during the bathing season the Agency takes samples and carries out analyses in the following lakes and streams: Lake Maggiore, Lake Orta, Lake Mergozzo, Lake Viverone, Lake Candia, Lake Sirius, Lake Grande Avigliana, streams Cannobbio and Bernardino. The bulletin is issued based on the results of the laboratories with respect to the concentration of escherichia coli and intestinal enterococci.In addition to the last judgment of bathing, the dataset includes the monographs of the beaches, the graphs and the values of the samples carried out. Since 2015 the results of cyanobacteria monitoring, carried out routinely in areas where flowering historically occurs, have also been published. The areas suitable for bathing are identified by Regional Decision at the beginning of each bathing season and are sampled at points whose location, from sampling to sampling, does not vary. In relation to the opinions of bathing areas fall within two types: 1. bathing areas, i.e. those for which the results of the analyses on the sample taken comply with all the parameters considered by the legislation in force; 2. temporarily non-swimming areas, or those for which the results of the analyses on the sample taken do not comply for at least one of the parameters considered, until the first favourable analytical result following the pollution event, which demonstrates the restoration of water quality.The samples are taken, at least once a month, in the band normally used by bathers, corresponding to a depth of the seabed between 80 and 120 cm. The parameters analyzed are chemical, physical and microbiological. Some chemical-physical parameters are detected in the field. If anomalies are visually detected, aliquots to be allocated to the laboratory are taken for the qualification and quantification of any substances present. The microbiological parameters analyzed are: Escherichia coli and intestinal Enterococci. The sampling methods and times, as well as the analytical determinations, are defined by Legislative Decree 116/2008 and Annexes A and D of the implementing decree of 30 March 2010.
